Face Your Inner Self

Dude I want to be like you one day”
.
Don’t hold your breath with excitement.
.
I’ve been buried alive inside my own body.
.
Shut off from the outside world with crippling depression.
.
Self destructive to myself and those around me.
.
Hurtful in ways that stain souls.
.
I was living my life unconsciously for many years until I broke free.
Free from my excuses.
Free from my old ways.
Free from things that no longer serve me.
The main difference in my life now awareness and love.
I had to seek out what I was missing.
I had to become involved in life to evolve.
Im far from perfect and I love it. It’s what makes me, me.
Your darkness, your battles, and the resurrection you’re capable of embodying is what makes you, you.
Face your bullshit so you can shine for others to see.
That might just be all they need to free themselves as well.

Discovered Cody after his interview with Shawn Ryan. I served in 1-63AR and although I’m not MARSOC, what Cody communicates to young men these days is immensely needed and valued. I hope I’m able to one day join Defy Tribe. Keep up the good work!

I’m actually pretty shocked that no one has he had commented on this but I just watched your 6 hour and 15 minutes interview on the Shawn Ryan show and I got to say you’re you’re one hell of a dude and I appreciate all you’ve done for ultimately me and this great country ours, though I’ve been a civilian my entire life, had I had better role models growing up in the environment that I unfortunately grew up in and it started down the wrong path of life I’m 33 now and it’s been a constant struggle but I’m learning learning more everyday but this I watch pretty much this whole interview in one sitting, it’s really fascinating and it’s really a it’s really harrowing seeing you telling certain stories and you can see it all over your face like your back there all over again and I’m sorry you had to go through that dude, I couldn’t even imagine I would try but it would never do it any kind of Justice compared to what you really went through, but the way you are about shit, and how you’re just straight up, there might be a lot of myself it’s exactly how I am ain’t no room for the fucking highschool politics or whatever certificates that they hand themselves to make themselves feel like they’ve done something, and you’re probably to an extent they did, but we need more people like you out there man just it was very inspirational watching you to tell your story without being biased towards yourself like I appreciate people who know how to keep things on level playing Field make things and the way you go about shit like the way you just wanted to streamline your platoon get shit done the right way, and the most efficient way . . But most importantly you were trying to make it the safe as possible for the men under your umbrella and it shows a very good depth of character that a lot of people don’t have these days so I appreciate me and thank you for everything you’ve done for me and everyone else who lives here. .
